The
Emsworth Show 2010
The
preparations for the Emsworth Show, to be held on 30th August
2010 in the Jubilee Park on the Horndean Road, Emsworth, are now
underway. We have had just about enough offers of help to continue this
year but further offers will be more than welcome.
CAR PARKING
Please note that this year
the direction of traffic to the car park is reversed and
entrance for vehicles to the Show Ground is via the
tennis court car park to the south of the Show Ground
and the exit is via the lane to the north of the Show
Ground. Cars should use the northerly entrance to the
tennis court car park and tall vehicles will need to use
the southerly entrance. Marshalls will be there to
guide you. Traffic lights will once again be in
operation on the Horndean Road and the cycle path will
be closed for the day.

Schedules are now available (free of charge) at all the usual outlets –
Libraries, several Emsworth Shops, the EHS hut on Sunday mornings (10am
till noon) and the Tourist Information Centre at Beachlands. Last
year’s entrants should have received copies by now. We hope for a good
entry from gardeners, cooks, craft enthusiasts and photographers – also
we would like to have plenty of children’s entries.

The always popular Fun Dog Show (register at the small arena) will take
place once more and the arena events will feature the Quack Pack and the
Gosport Big Noise Samba Band as well as previously featured attractions
– including the Homested Dog Agility, First Class Falconry and TS Unity
Band.
On the Show Ground will be a good range of children’s attractions,
stalls, refreshments etc.
The main
attraction, as always, will be the Show Marquee with all the floral,
vegetable, domestic, craft and photographic entries from both adults and
children.
We have an excellent range of raffle prizes, kindly donated by local
businesses and friends. In particular we must thank Stansted Garden
Centre (now under new ownership) for a generous donation of vouchers for
1st prize. Tickets are available in advance from the hut or
from members of the committee.
The entry fee to the Show Ground is £2.50 per person plus £2 for each
car parked on site. Children under the age of 12 may enter free but
should be accompanied. The Show Ground is open at 11am but the marquee
opens at 1 pm. The Show will be officially opened by the Mayor of
Havant at 12.50 pm. Disabled visitors, each accompanied by up to 2
friends, may tour the marquee early at 12.30pm.
We will
post the time tables for the arenas and various happenings mid August.
