Our   first   Centenary   event   is   Gardeners’   Questions   with   BBC   Radio   Solent   on   Friday   15 th    March.   Rebecca Parker   of   Radio   Solent   will   be   the   host   for   this   recording   of   Gardeners   questions’   at   the   Baptist   Church   in Emsworth.   Rebecca   is   the   host   of   their   weekly   gardening   programme   ‘The   Kitchen   Garden’   which   goes   out every   Sunday   morning   at   12.00.   Rebecca   will   be   joined   by   gardening   experts   Andy   McIndoe   and   Pippa Bensley. Andy   McIndoe   is   well   known   to   some   of   our   members   who   have   visited   his   beautiful   garden.   During   his career   with   Hillier   Nurseries   he   was   responsible   for   the   development   of   their   garden   centres   and   25 consecutive   Gold   Medal   winning   exhibits   at   the   RHS   Chelsea   Flower   Show.   Andy   now   works   freelance and his work includes broadcasting, writing and garden design. Pippa   Bensley   has   enjoyed   a   long   career   in   horticulture,   as   a   plant   buyer   for   Hilliers   and   editor   of   their gardening   magazine.   She   now   has   her   own   business   selling   cut   flowers,   and   gives   tutorials   in   flower arranging as well as enjoying regular broadcasting for local radio. Tickets   for   this   event   will   be   on   sale   at   the   Hut   when   it   reopens   on   Sunday   6 th    January   and   at   Bookends   in Emsworth. EHS   members   £2   and   non-members   £3,   to   cover   the   cost   of   the   hall   and   refreshments.   Doors   open   at 1.15pm and you will need to be seated at 1.45pm for the recording to start at 2pm prompt.
